Jaci Hasemeyer from Riverside, CA
For managing a household of 13, with 10 adopted kids, The Hasemeyers founded a foster care and adoption ministry in 2001. Jaci Hasemeyer quit her job as a physical education teacher so she could devote time to their children and help run the adoption and foster care ministry. She was nominated Chief Health Officer for the Got Milk campaign and toured the country inspiring good health and exercise. For making us think twice about having to change just one set of diapers, and for inspiring us to keep our kids (and ourselves) healthy.

Thank you for posnitg this. I manage the page of a local rescue so I am more than rescue and adoption friendly. However, some of the rescues and cross-posters are out of control. The tagging and the over-posnitg kills me.Facebook's terms of service are clear; read and abide.

I applaud to the mother who took her son car and sold it for having alchol in it because first of all he is underage and he should not have alchol in there in the first place because if he would have gotten pulled over it would have been so much worse

This is !#$?@ ridiculous. How do you leave your own flesh and blood in a car for that long?? How can you just forget that he's in there?? This woman should not be nominated for mom of the year. She should be in a prison cell for the rest of her life.

What a bitch. Just cause there was alcohol in the car, that does not mean he was driving drunk. Is she going to sell the house if she finds beer in his closet. Total idiot.

This is the dumbest article I ever read.

How exactly does a person become a 'mom of the year' when she did, in fact, allow her child to die? How is that being a good mother? These choices should be about celebrating the good that people have done, not about saying, "Well at least she's sorry," when something has gone wrong.

leaving a 9month year old baby in a car for SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS IS NOT A MISTAKE! wtf. how do you even step away from the car without your 9 month old baby?! seriously?!?!

Alcohol possession is not alcohol abuse. I spent years with a circle of friends who drank alcohol frequently and stupidly and still never got behind the wheel drunk. The closest I ever saw one of my friends come to driving drunk was when one of them tried to take his keys back not to drive, but to make whooshing noises with his Superman charm. He was perfectly content to let his girlfriend hold on to the actual keys.

Wait, she's a hero because she sold her adult son's car against his will? I understand he should not be drinking, nor should he have alcohol in a car, but he is still an adult. Was the alcohol even open? If he wasn't sloshing it in the car, I would hardly call that a heroic act. And yes, I am a mother.

Wonderful choices for Mom Of The Year. Even though I cannot stomach the thought of a baby being left in a car for that long in any weather. At least she is taking responsibility and trying to help others by sharing her mistakes. I respect that.
